North Pine Country Park, Dayboro Road at Kurwongbah

The first Fire Brigade (Volunteer) was formed in 1860, almost a year before Queensland had become a separate state to New South Wales. Brisbane was first occupied as a penal colony in 1825 with the last of the convicts being removed in 1939, why Brisbane waited for so long for a Fire Brigade can not be understood however the small population and financial circumstances all would have played a part.

And so began Fire Service's in Brisbane and Queensland not long after, and here we are allowing a look back in time as it was, the museum looks to preserving Fire Service History in Queensland and where possible display this history in a museum for many to come and see.

The Fire Brigade Historical Society Inc was formed in 1983 with the objective to preservation and education for future generations.

Please come and visit the museum where you will find many historical vehicles and equipment displays, facts and information on the past history of the Queensland Fire Brigades.

The Fire Museum is situated at North Pine Country Park, Dayboro Road at Kurwongbah, near Petrie.
